Official warranty terms for JDM engines and transmissions sold by JDM Tokyo Motorsports.
JDM Tokyo Motorsports warrants that every used engine and transmission sold will be in a serviceable condition, having regard to the nature of used automotive components, for the durations specified below. 1.1 Warranty Start Date - In-Store Pickups / Local Sales: The warranty period begins immediately on the purchase/pickup date. - Out-of-State / Freight Shipments: The warranty period begins on the day the shipment is marked delivered by the freight carrier.
Gaskets & Seals: Install a new rear main seal, new oil pan gasket, and new valve cover gaskets.
Oil System Care: Thoroughly clean the oil pickup tube and replace the oil filter. Fill the engine with manufacturer-suggested oil types and levels.
Cooling System Overhaul: Install a brand-new water pump and a new thermostat. Perform a comprehensive flush of all cooling lines and the radiator before filling with fresh antifreeze.
Timing & Ignition: Replace the timing belt/chain (if applicable), inspect/replace all external accessory drive belts, and install brand-new spark plugs.
Fluid Lines: Flush all external transmission cooling and oil lines to prevent contamination from previous vehicle debris.
Intake and exhaust manifolds, carburetors, fuel injectors, fuel systems, and fuel pumps.
Alternators, starters, distributors, coil packs, ignitors, wiring harnesses, and ECUs.
Power steering pumps, oil pumps, water pumps, thermostats, belts, and hoses.
Clutches, flywheels, pressure plates, pulleys, engine mounts, axles, and half-shafts.
Initiation: All warranty claims must be submitted formally via email with a precise, written explanation of the mechanical issue.
Freight & Testing: The customer is responsible for pre-paying all return freight charges to ship a suspected defective item back to our facility. JDM Tokyo Motorsports will inspect and test the engine/transmission to verify the validity of the claim.
Resolution: If the component is verified to be defective under our covered terms, JDM Tokyo Motorsports will ship a replacement unit at no extra part cost. If the component is determined not to be defective, the customer must pay the return freight costs to have the item shipped back to them.
Asset Return Timeline: In the event that a replacement unit is dispatched to the customer before the original item is sent back, the original item must be securely returned to our facility within ten (10) days. Failure to return the original item within this window will result in the customer being billed full price for both units, plus all associated freight charges.
